Custom Orders
Our pieces begin with a story.
At Clay Burd, we don't just make pottery—we create pieces that celebrate people, places, and moments.
You don't need to know exactly what you want. In fact, many of our favorite projects begin with a simple story, a photo, or a feeling. We'll help interpret the details and transform them into something meaningful, useful, and uniquely yours.
Almost Anything
Almost anything that fits within our handmade pottery process—from ring dishes and serving pieces to keepsakes, gifts, and branded collaborations. If you have an idea, we'd love to hear it. All products are dishwasher and microwave friendly. Have Questions…just ask.
Let's Start With the Story
Tell us who it's for, what you're celebrating, and any details that matter to you. A favorite place, a beloved pet, a family tradition, a meaningful date, or even a simple photo can be enough to spark an idea.
Some clients come to us with a complete vision. Others come with a stray idea and trust us to interpret it. We love finding creative ways to turn meaningful details into pieces that feel personal and authentic.
Can You Personalize Pieces?
Absolutely. Names, dates, meaningful phrases, logos, locations, pets, hobbies, family traditions, and favorite places are often the details that make a piece feel truly special.
Do You Work With Businesses, Stores & Events?
Yes. We love collaborating on branded pieces, client gifts, retail partnerships, wedding favors, event keepsakes, and other creative projects. We are a small shop, and won’t overpromise, if we don’t think we can meet your needs.
Will My Piece Look Exactly Like the Photos?
No two pieces of handmade art are exactly alike, and that's part of the beauty. Each Clay Burd piece is shaped, glazed, and kiln-fired by hand, making every piece uniquely yours.
Will You Share My Piece on Social Media?
We love celebrating custom projects and sharing the stories behind them. If your order is a surprise or you'd prefer it remain private, just let us know.
Timing, Pricing & Planning Ahead
The best custom pieces take time.
Clay dries on its own schedule. Glazes have personalities. Kilns occasionally keep us humble.
The sooner you share your story with us, the more time we have to bring it to life.
A custom piece might take two weeks. It might take twelve. Either way, we'll give you a realistic timeline before we start and never promise something we can't deliver.
Pricing depends on size, quantity, complexity, and the level of customization involved. Once we learn more about your project, we'll provide a quote before any work begins.
If you're working toward a special date, reach out early.
Handmade is worth the wait.
